Andrew Tate: Romanian police to hold influencer for 30 days
Andrew Tate and his brother Tristan were arrested in connection with an investigation into human trafficking and rape allegations on Thursday.
The pair, along with two Romanian men are suspected of running an organized crime group.
Tristan and the two Romanian men were also detained by authorities in Bucharest. Andrew Tate has not yet commented on the accusations, but a tweet was sent from his Twitter account alluding to the film The Matrix and retweeting Matrix memes posted by Elon Musk. During the detention hearing, the brothers exercised their right to remain silent, according to their lawyer.
The Romanian Directorate for Investigating Organised Crime and Terrorism stated that two British citizens and two Romanian citizens are suspected of being part of a human trafficking group.
The statement from the Directorate said that officers had identified six people who were allegedly sexually exploited by what it referred to as an “organised criminal group”.
Police allege that the victims were recruited by British citizens who misrepresented their intentions and then forced the victims to perform in pornographic content under threat of violence.
