Prince Harry Admits to Being ‘Probably Bigoted’ Before Meeting Meghan Markle

In a teaser for his upcoming CBS News interview with Anderson Cooper, Prince Harry discusses his relationship with Meghan Markle and the treatment they received from the British press.

Harry admits to being “incredibly naïve” about the press and says he had no idea they were “so bigoted” until he and Meghan were in the spotlight. Harry also discusses the leaks and briefings from the royal family, saying that “silence is betrayal” and that he doesn’t understand how staying silent will ever make things better.

In addition to discussing his relationship with Meghan and the treatment they received from the press, Prince Harry also spoke about his decision to step down as a senior member of the royal family and the events leading up to it.

Harry revealed that he had tried to handle the situation privately, but that there were constant leaks and briefings against him and Meghan.

He also addressed the royal family motto of “never complain, never explain,” saying that it is just a motto and that he felt the need to speak out due to the betrayal of staying silent. Harry also addressed the possibility of attending his father’s coronation, saying that while anything could happen between now and then, the door is always open.

In the CBS News interview, Prince Harry also discusses his new book, “Spare,” which will be released on January 10.

Harry wrote the book as a way to honour his mother, Princess Diana, and to share his own experiences and struggles.
